About us

OUR MISSION

Iyengar Medical and Educational Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that seeks to support financially disadvantaged individuals.

Funds will be raised with the assistance of generous corporate and individual donors. They will then be facilitated to organizations or individuals working in any of the above areas, which ultimately focus on providing opportunities for a productive future and a better quality of life.

OBJECTIVES

One of IMEF’s objectives is to enhance awareness and screening for adults. Since its inception in 2008, the foundation has selected a type of cancer annually to increase awareness and public knowledge of that disease.

At IMEF, we strive for a transformation in society in terms of health and education. Our foundation supports promising joint actions like scholarship programs that support bright minds. In addition, it supports extensive healing with advanced medications and effective treatments for those who need them.

The knowledge gained from our programs can be used in all settings – towns, villages, and larger urban centers. Furthermore, we will hold conferences to educate the masses on the signs and symptoms associated with prostate cancer.

Ultimately, IMEF hopes that more and more communities adopt standard practices for screening and treating prostate cancer and other diseases after being educated by our organization. In addition, we are determined to bring international cancer care practices to the poorest people and the smallest villages in India.

All of these efforts take a significant infusion of funding. We hope to solicit any contributions from our readers of this website to help us attain our goals of “Healing through education, treatment, and research.”

OUR INSPIRATION

PROF. S. S. IYENGAR, PH.D.

Dr. S.S Iyengar is currently working as a distinguished University Professor at Ryder Professor of Computer Science. He was former Director of the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University (FIU), Miami. He is also the Founding Director of Discovery Lab.

Dr. Iyengar’s influential text books in Multi-Sensor Fusions , Sensor Network Programming , Wavelet Analysis, Distributed Sensor Networks have been used extensively and translated into many languages worldwide. The research findings uniquely connect computing techniques to imaging techniques to biological systems protocols and modeling.

MANORAMA IYENGAR

Manorama was a warrior for sailing the boats of life in stormy winds. The struggle for ‘living’ existence in India had ended and struggle for ‘living’ for computing society has just started in Mississippi when Dr. S S Iyengar married Manorama fifty years back.

The mirage of life of both sides ( existential and computational) was beginning to unfold for Dr. S. S. Iyengar in 1978-80. The almost annual visits to India were full of struggle as Dr. S. S. Iyengar had to wade through comments from Indian Society that he is performing less on his duties to his family where he is born.
